Dimensional lumber is the most common sawmill product. These cuts measure between 2 and 5 inches in thickness and range from 2 to 12 inches wide. You'll commonly use dimensional lumber for plate, joist, stud, header and rafter applications. Sawmills usually plane dimensional lumber to specific sizes and smoothness standards.
Bed Mill: A bed mill, on the other hand, moves the material perpendicular to the axis. The bed of the mill moves along the Y and Z axes and the spindle moves along the X-axis, providing a full, 3-axis range of movement. The spindle movement, coupled together with the horizontal movement of the table enables milling of a variety of depths and shapes.

BLOOMS: A Semi-finished product, usually in square (at times in rectangular) section of cross sectional size exceeding 5"x5" (125mm X 125mm). In some of the modern mills, the term bloom is used to cover such products of cross sectional size exceeding 8"x8". These are inputs for producing Heavy sections and Sheet piling section normally by hot rolling.

These are two of the most prevalent milling operations, each using different types of cutters – the and mill and the face mill. The difference between end milling and face milling is that an end mill uses both the end and the sides of the cutter, whereas face milling is used for horizontal cutting.
The metal forming method at a temper mill involves rolling the sheets of steel through what is known as a cold reducing process or temper pass. This increases the density of the steel by reducing its overall thickness between usually 1.5% to 2% without allowing the steel to spread out while under pressure.

A CNC mill is the better choice for industrial-grade materials since a router doesn't have the same amount of power. A router cuts much faster than a milling machine, but it has less torque, using rotational speed to drive the force to the tool. The RPM of a CNC router is much faster than the speed of a mill.
1.A mill is a place where some grinding work is taking place such as a flour mill or rice mill. A factory is a place where big machines or plants are present for producing machinery or goods. 2.However, a mill was used for referring to factories in the early days, especially during the Industrial Revolution, as a water mill was used to power it.
Wood received at a pulp mill may be in several different forms, depending on the pulping process and the origin of the raw material. The difference between vertical roller mill and ball mill The ball mill is generally composed of a horizontal cylinder, a hollow shaft for feeding and discharging, and a grinding head. The cylinder body is provided with an abrasive body, the cylinder body is made of steel plate, and the steel lining plate is fixed with the cylinder body, and the grinding body is generally a steel ball, and ...
The balls which could be of different diameter occupy 30 – 50 % of the mill volume and its size depends on the feed and mill size. The large balls tend to break down the coarse feed materials and the smaller balls help to form fine product by reducing void spaces between the balls. Ball mills grind material by impact and attrition.
A cant, to me, is a completely edged (maybe all four sides sometimes) piece of wood cut by the mill, or something close to this. To me if I was cutting 2x6's out of a log 32" in diameter I would cut 3 or 4, 1 5/8 boards or flitches, then I would drop the head down 5 1/2", to make a cant to re-saw later.
Optimum ratio between length L and diameter D, L:D is, usually, accepted in the range 1.56–1.64. The mill productivity also depends on many other factors: physical-chemical properties of feed material, filling of the mill by balls and their sizes, armor surface shape, speed of rotation, milling fineness and timely moving off of ground product.
